What is the working principle of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Generator?

Pressure swing adsorption oxygen generator is a zeolite molecular sieve as adsorbent, the use of pressure adsorption, pressure desorption principle of adsorption and release of nitrogen from the air, so as to separate oxygen automation equipment. Zeolite molecular sieve is a kind of special pass processing process. Its pass characteristics enable it to achieve kinetic separation of O2 and N2. The separation effect of zeolite molecular sieve on O2 and N2 is based on the slight difference in kinetic diameters of the two gases. N2 molecules have a faster diffusion rate in the micropores of zeolite molecular sieve, while O2 molecules have a slower diffusion rate. The diffusion of water and CO2 in compressed air is not very different from that of nitrogen. What eventually comes out of the adsorption tower is oxygen molecules.

The principle of pressure swing adsorption is the use of zeolite molecular sieve selection adsorption characteristics, the use of pressure adsorption, vacuum desorption cycle, so that compressed air alternately into the adsorption tower to achieve air separation, so as to continuously produce high-purity product oxygen.

After the air is compressed by the air compressor, after dust removal, oil removal and drying, it enters the air storage tank, enters the left adsorption tower through the air intake valve and left intake valve, the tower pressure rises, the nitrogen molecules in the compressed air are adsorbed by zeolite molecular sieve, and the unadsorbed oxygen passes through the adsorption bed and enters the oxygen storage tank through the left gas production valve and oxygen gas production valve. This process is called left suction. The duration is about sixty seconds. After the end of the left suction process, the left adsorption tower and the right adsorption tower are connected through the pressure equalization valve, so that the pressure of the two towers is balanced, this process is called pressure equalization, and the duration is 3 to 5 seconds. After the end of the pressure equalization, the compressed air enters the oxygen tank through the air intake valve and the right intake valve. This process is called right suction, and the duration is about sixty seconds. At the same time, the oxygen adsorbed by zeolite molecular sieve in the left adsorption tower is released back to the atmosphere through the pressure reduction of the left exhaust valve. On the contrary, when the left column adsorbs, the right column also desorbs. In order to completely discharge the nitrogen released from the decompression in the molecular sieve into the atmosphere, the oxygen is swept through a normally open reverse blow valve to the desorption adsorption tower, and the oxygen in the reverse tower is blown out of the adsorption tower. This process is called blowback, and it goes hand in hand with desorption. After the end of the right suction, enter the pressure balancing process, and then switch to the left suction process, and continue the cycle.
