Technical point analysis of hydrogen production from ammonia decomposition

The hydrogen production system of ammonia decomposition is a simple method to prepare N2+H2 mixture. Compared with the water electrolysis technology, less investment, small volume, low energy consumption, high efficiency, to get a clean 25% nitrogen and 75% hydrogen. Mixed gas is mainly used for metal heat treatment, electronics, powder metallurgy reduction, sintering, chemical industry, ceramics and other industries protection atmosphere. If pure hydrogen is required, we can increase the PSA purification system to obtain a high purity of ≥99.999%.

 

Starting sequence of ammonia decomposition furnace

1. Line purge Purge the calciner and gas lines with nitrogen to displace the air in the system, with a purge time of 2-4 hours.

2. Switch on the power supply, turn on the power switch of the electric control box, the temperature controller indicator light, the decomposition furnace temperature indicator light, observe whether the ammeter works normally, the equipment begins to heat up. Read the operating instructions of the temperature controller carefully before heating up. The monitoring temperature should be 20 to 50 ° C higher than the temperature control setting.

3. Open the reducing valve and blowdown valve, so that the residual gas in the equipment is discharged to the outside during the heating process.

 

Check the start-up of ammonia decomposition furnace

 

1. Check whether the gas and electrical systems of the equipment are smooth or whether there is gas leakage, poor electrical contact or instrument failure, and repair the problem in time.

2. The valves of the gas system should be closed.

3. Connect the external power supply.

4. Check whether the ammonia bottle is properly connected when there is one.

5. Whether the electric contact thermometer or electric contact pressure gauge is set properly.

2. The design of ammonia decomposing furnace is reasonable and can work normally under pressure.

3. The split flow structure of the decomposition bed of the decomposing furnace makes the air flow evenly distributed and gives full play to the role of the catalyst.

4. The surface load power of the decomposing electric furnace resistance wire is 1w/cm2, which increases the service life of the resistance wire.

5. The resistance wire is uniformly distributed in the furnace, radiates heat to the furnace and transfers heat uniformly.

6. The resistance wire is divided into three temperature zones to ensure the uniform distribution of furnace temperature in the upper and lower direction of the furnace.

7. Each zone uses a power controller to ensure the temperature uniformity of the three temperature zones.

8. The temperature control system adopts digital PID control instrument and thyristor to control the temperature of the calciner, so that the temperature is controlled within the range of ±1℃.
